SoCal CLC Tours Mt Wilson Observatory

Southern California Region CLC members visited the Mt Wilson Observatory on Saturday, July 18. Situated high in the San Gabriel Mountains above Pasadena, the observatory complex produced some of the most important discoveries in astrophysics of the 20th Century, and continues to generate important scientific data via the CHARA Array. Our docent led us on a tour across the observatory grounds, taking us inside two of the solar telescopes, as well as the giant 60 inch and 100 inch reflecting telescopes. After our tour, our group made our way down the mountain to Twohey’s Restaurant in South Pasadena for a great time socializing over good food.


Thank you to all the CLC members who came out to make this event a success!
